On Friday, November 25th, 2016 at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for the skating and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for a PIZZA PARTY.

ONE STOP SHOP  - REGISTRATION DAY  

FOR VARIOUS SPORT AND RECREATION ORGANIZATIONS IN THE CHALEUR REGION

In collaboration with the City of Bathurst, the Multicultural Association Chaleur Region, invite you for an "ONE STOP SHOP". This activity is a registration and information day for various sport and recreation organizations in the Chaleur Region.

The event will be set up in a tradeshow format with each organization or group hosting a booth specific to their activity or organization.

Community members will have the opportunity to access all the information they need to register or become involved with a wide variety of community based groups and activities.

There will be no cost to attend the ONE STOP SHOP.

EDMUNSTON BUS TRIP

The Multicultural Association Chaleur Region is going on a bus tour to Edmunston. We will visit the New Brunswick Botanical Garden for an unprecedented discovery of the natural flora of NB, the world...and much more. The mosaicultures installed on the site will help you discover aspects of the local history and culture. In addition to its traditional exhibition `` Butterflies of the World ``, the Garden is offering a unique feature this year, a celestial garden called Khronos , a contemporary stone circle where earth, humans and space come together in a creation and exploration dimension.

On our way back, we will visit the museum of the Battle of Restigouche.

BUS TRIP TO MONCTON

The Multicultural Association Chaleur Region invites you to a bus trip to Moncton.

We will visit the Magnetic Zoo and do outdoor activities. The Magnetic Hill Zoo, the largest Zoo in Atlantic Canada. There are more than 400 animals, representing over 90 different species. Check out the African lions, Arctic wolves, Burmese pythons, cotton-top Tamarins, or how about a South American tarantula?

You'll have the opportunity to shop at Value Village in Moncton.

On the MAX AITKEN boat, you'll discover Miramichi, with the fascinating story of the Acadians that arrive in the region, our contribution in the naval construction at the end of the 18th.

We will have lunch at Ritchie's Wharf, a Shipbuilding is the theme of this charming public park. The waterfront was once a thriving shipbuilding industry, today it is a place where your children can have fun in the nautically themed playground. The'll love to play and get wet on the splash pad. You'll appreciate the boardwalk's shops, artists, gallery and restaurants.

Learn about the story of Lord Beaverbrook by visiting his historical house.

Bus trip to Bonaventure

Newcomers and their families and members of the Association are invited on a one-day bus trip to Bonaventure in the Gaspé Peninsula on Saturday, August 25th, to visit the Acadian Museum, the Saint Bonaventure church heritage site and the Bioparc. Acadian French for Newcomers

The Multicultural Association Chaleur Region is now pleased to offer a course in Acadian French for health-care workers, free of charge for immigrant newcomers who are permanent residents, temporary foreign workers and international students.  Individuals who have studied abroad but are now Canadian citizens may also be eligible.  The course will be offered in the MACR offices Monday evenings, beginning July 23, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. for ten consecutive weeks.  The general objectives of this course are:

•To understand the unique characteristics of Acadian French.
•To recognize certain words and expressions of popular Acadian French used in the region.
•To understand common words and expressions used to talk about health.
• To use regional Acadian words and expressions to communicate in your work and daily activities.
