The Multicultural Association Chaleur Region is looking for a female Syrian Refugees Settlement Officer for a period of 4 to 6 months.

Description of Tasks for Syrian Refugees Settlement Officer Position:

- Provide a reception and referral service to assess and determine the needs of Syrians      and refer them to available services.

- Translate documents from Syrians and provide simultaneous translations.

- Organize activities bringing Syrian refugees together with newcomers, local people and non-profit organizations.

- Collaborate with the various services in the region and follow up with Syrian Refugees regarding their establishment.

- Support Syrian Refugees by referring them to the various services offered in the region.

- Develop individualized intervention plans to accompany Refugees.

- Perform various administrative tasks.

- Participate in the organization of integration activites for newcomers.

- Respond to inquiries received by phone and email and forward phone calls and messages.

- Establish and maintain an effective customer information filing system.

Requirement and informations:

- High School diploma or equivalent;

- Bachelor in Business Administration would be an asset;

- Knowledge of Arabic is esssential, as well as French and English. Spoken and written;

- Duration of employement: 6 months (replacement of maternity leave);

- Must own a vehicle and be willing to travel;

- Full time: 37.5h/week

The Multicultural Association Chaleur Region's Board of Directors is pleased to announce the arrival of Marc-André Gionet as the Executive Director of the MACR. Native from Caraquet, he lives in the Chaleur region since 2013. Mr. Gionet holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in International Management from the Université de Moncton. Mr. Gionet began his duties with the MACR on January 9th, 2017.

The BOD also wishes to sincerely thank Pauline Fournier who has acted as Acting Director for MACR for the past 6 months.
